Author Topic: Americans choose Harriet Tubman to be on the $20 bill  (Read 48870 times)

I think we should have Teddy Roosevelt on the $20.  Also we should bring production of high-denomination bills back.

There are a lot of tribal crybabies here if they're really upset about Old Hickory being replaced with Harriet Tubman. It would be cool to have currency with various historically, culturally, and scientifically important things on them changing every so often. Man they should do that with quarters, instead of states, national parks, territories they should of done that. It would have been pretty cool

regardless of what lincoln did, he did it for the wrong reasons, and I don't think he needs to be honored for it

With you until that, my god what a whiny attitude to have

betsy ross???????? she made a FLAG. and we don't even know that she actually did it
harriet tubman saved people's livesdo you jerk off to money? or something?regardless of what lincoln did, he did it for the wrong reasons, and I don't think he needs to be honored for it

Betsy Ross created the American flag, that is a large scale contribution.

Do I jerk off to money? What kind of question is this?

Regardless of Lincoln did? He freed the slaves! Are we going to discredit Nelson Mandela for participating in and approving many terrorists acts during the Apartheid Era? Don't forget that he was part of the terrorist wing of the ANC (UmKhonto we Sizwe). To answer that, we're not discrediting Mandela because of that, after all he did end Apartheid.

...What in god's name are you rambling on about?!

Well, I discredit him for being a terrorist.

Also, anyone could create a flag. And let's be honest here, it's not exactly the most inspired of flags.

sounds like something a person who jacks off to money says

Like honestly though, I wouldn't mind Tubman being on some sort of currency, but if you're going to choose a historical figure on the basis that they are black you should choose MLK.  He did so much more for the nation than Tubman.

I would much rather see MLK on a bill.

I can't really think of anything to say except "no."  There are far better contributions by people who actually changed the structure of America.  Hell, if you want to credit Betsy Ross, you should credit the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci because the name "America" was named after him.

However, I see this as somehow true.

I wish I could teach you some comprehension skills, but sadly I don't have the time. I was trying to say how just as Lincoln had his faults, so did Mandela. The key thing to know about the two people, were that they were both revolutionary politicians who changed the shape and face of their nations completely, for the greater good of the people.

While I didn't like your methods, your conclusion is firm.

I want Patton because of his speeches:
Quote
We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have or ever will have. We're not just going to shoot the bastards, we're going to rip out their living goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun roostersuckers by the bushel-loving-basket.
I want that man on my 20 dollar bill.

they weren't even discussing nelson mandela here though. don't get so snooty and high-and-mighty about people questioning you when you come out of left field with something completely new to the discussion.

Even if he doesn't make it onto the bills, he should definitely be on war bonds holy stuff.

Oh yes

Patton was without a doubt the greatest American wartime leader.

Night Fox made a ridiculous statement about Lincoln and how he feels that he shouldn't be honored because he thinks that he used the "wrong reasons". I compared Lincoln to another revolutionary leader.
