Saw this on imgur.

It'd be way cool to have a flying buddy than just a camera  :iceCream:

Doesn't seem that impressive to me since you have to wear a "tracking device", rather than it being able to track you without having to have something of that sort (we clearly aren't there yet at least at a consumer level). It also lacks any obstacle avoidance which also sucks majorly considering you'd probably expect it by now (or I have over expectations for todays technology). Lastly, the full sale price of $999 seems too much (obviously if they can afford to sell it at half price), so I'd buy it at the presale price if you're actually interested. I will give it credit for being at least a rather original idea and it'll still look neat watching one of these follow someone around.

I like it a lot, and I don't mind it having a tracking item (after all, if it relied solely on visual information it could get lost if something got in between you and it), especially since the tracking item is also the remote control, which tells it what sort of camera angles/movements to take, and to come down.

I just don't like the fact that it has 20 minutes of battery power but takes 2 hours to recharge.
And from what I could understand since it's water-proof and all, you can't swap the batteries over.

It kind of sucks to take it out with you somewhere, like kayaking down a river, or surfing at the beach, or skiing, for it to only be able to catch 20 minutes of film, and then you actually have to go home to do more.
Whereas you could get a GoPro or similar, and catch hours of footage, albeit not from such spectacular views.

Keep in mind, you could have a portable charging device - a larger battery, for example, or a car charger.

Future versions will apparently also have removable batteries, so there's that too.

this stuff is really hard to do... maybe the military?
