Author Topic: I can't join my own dedicated server  (Read 1545 times)

Just do it.

Yeah, not happening.

There has to be another way.

Or maybe it'll just work the next time I try to host a sever. I dunno.

I was getting my laptop ready for hosting again, and I relized that I was connecting through the wifi signal instead of Ethernet.

Could that be a possible issue? (Either way, I'm going to remember to direct connect from now on.)

This indicates that the UPnP server needs to be restarted. It seems to think that your BL server is already running on that port and so it won't let anything else use the port.

Try it again, I guess. If it still fails, see my above post.

That's weird, because it posted to the master server fine, it said in the dedicated server window that is was running, and if I went into the game itself and hosted a nondedicated server, it worked perfectly well.

I'll try it again with an ethernet cord, and if it works, I'll post the server console again in case it shows a solution and how to fix it in the future.

If it doesn't work, I guess I'll have to reset it in the middle of the night or something.

I tried with an ethernet cable.
Now it works perfectly.

Weird.

Here's my the console log from my server.

I'm glad i can do this, as now I can finally get back to hosting.

Hopefully this won't fry my laptop, but my servers won't be 24/7 anyway.

Interesting. The UPnP still failed, but you must have forwarded the port to 192.168.1.10 manually. Is that correct? When you connected via wireless you had a different port.

It's possible you dud set a static IP on your ethernet but not on your wireless network. I madebthat mistake once too.

I never port forwarded.

I was always able to host servers without it. Maybe it was somehow set beforehand and I thought it was UPNP? Or maybe my router works in some weird way that makes it say it fails but it really didnt?

Now I need help again.

When I try to connect, my server console keeps saying "No matches"
