Author Topic: Windows 7 New Firewall Security Update Now My ports are blocked I added Pictures  (Read 607 times)

First let me  say I tried disabling it but it has 3 parts Private Public and domain What I have done is i made special Rules for Blockland! I thought about getting another firewall program that might be easier to setup. My ports are forwarded on the router nothing has changed there it's the stupid advance security firewall. All of a sudden I could no longer host a server and I figured it was a windows update maybe and Boom new Firewall BS!

Windows Update definitely hasn't changed anything. Did you assign your computer a static IP on your local network?

Also, try rebooting your router (unplug, wait 10 seconds, plug back in) and your computer.

Greek I sent you a PM also I hate to admit it I set up the port forwarding in the modem/router ATT Uverse and it worked just fine I never set up a static IP for my PC!

For me, on stuff t&t, you go to 192.168.1.254(your router's IP, it probably will be different for you), then wait for the horridly loving slow router website to load, click on the settings tab, then firewall, pinholes, add the port you want("add user-defined application"), fill that out, then select your computer, go to the user defined thing, click on what you named it, then click on "add". Probably will take you 10-15 minutes due to the slow-as-forget router page.
What can you expect. It's a router, not a web host.
