What would be your go-to choice for domain registration, webhosting and both perhaps. Thanks in advance.

Domain hosting:
Namecheap
BigRock
gandi.net

Hosting:
I'd buy a Las Vegas server on BuyVM with 512 ram, then I'd host an Apache HTTP server on it.

Hover is apparently great for domain names: https://www.hover.com/
I haven't used it personally though since my hosting service came with a free/very cheap domain name as part of the package.

it doesn't particularly matter where you go for domain names, just find the cheapest price

for hosting, there are a ton of companies you could use
if price isn't that big of a deal, I'd look around on some sites I like and see what they use
CSS-tricks uses mediatemple, I think

but buying a VPS if you're just gonna be hosting websites is ridiculous

I use name.com. Very fluid process.

i use godaddy
quoted him because my site was initially on his account, and is still on a godaddy account

Thanks for that, I'll transfer my domain to that when I get the chance.

GoDaddy probably
GoDaddy doesn't respect your internet freedoms, they supported SOPA
Also they also have a history of doing some "domain ransom" crap.

Hostinger for free hosting.
