Any way to create an email under any domain?

So, I need to get access to an e-mail, but the domain is no longer used with emails & therefore the email no longer exists. Would there be a way to get emails that go to it to forward to another email address or create an email by the same name & domain?

Or am I just totally screwed?
The domain in question is @spam.la, which redirects to some joomla crap.

It's possible to spoof a sent email address, but you cannot set up an email address at an arbitrary address and receive emails sent to it.

Without access to an existing mail handling server there isn't a means to forward or redirect primary level emails.

If you're technically skilled enough to figure it out, you are most probably able to host a mail server on the domain once buying/renting it out, if you're able.
