Author Topic: tudor asks blf for tech support: my mouse is posessed  (Read 1351 times)

alright so before you guys start yelling at me i've tried to search for other solutions and so far none of them have worked.

i have a laptop with windows 8 64bit. a while ago, my old mouse went forget, and i had to get a new one - from what i can tell on the serial label, an intex sls3, no longer listed on their site.

all was fine and well but almost immediately after i started having weird mouse problems. the most proeminent is this one: i often lock focus to the current window - not being able to click the taskbar, or any other window - and if i alt-tab to another window, clicking on that just changes focus back to the starting window, no matter where that is. it happens most often on firefox, and a lot of the time it happens when i middle click something.

i also have other issues involving the mouse, including google chrome going completely forget, opening new tabs when i click on links, and closing those tabs when i try to switch to them.

the only way i can see to fix these problems is to press ctrl-esc once, bringing up the metro menu, then pressing it again to go back to the desktop.
the problem also happens regardless of whether my mouse is plugged in or not, and also happens in safe mode.

god save me i reinstalled windows to fix that and a few other issues and it's totally still doing the thing

maybe my mouse is a Bad. what do?

It would help if we had the actual model of the mouse. Check if there were any drivers that you needed for the mouse to work.

Try it on another computer, see if it does it there.

the mouse was plug-n-play, so no driver cds or anything
i threw away the packaging a while ago, but i guess we might be able to track it down

somehow

i dont know how we could track it down, any ideas?

edit: it looks exactly like this thing except not red http://shopping.rediff.com/product/intex-optical-jashan-usb-mouse/11438328

could be bad drivers

put it in the microwave

strangely enough my microwave is also having troubles

hmmm...

anyway, how do i know if it's bad drivers or not

strangely enough my microwave is also having troubles
spoopy

three words are capitalized in the OP+first reply.

im calling an OBVIOS arg here:

FFB
WHAT DOES IT MEAN HM???/

seriously though please help

i reinstalled windows and it didn't help at all so either a. mouse is bork b. laptop is bork c. mouse/laptop somehow borks on mouse connection

could be a touchpad issue

can you disable it via your keyboard?

i can disable it via my touchpad

its got an area which i can double-tap to turn it off.
gonna do that and see how it goes.

edit: a problem that exists regardless is the middle mouse button activating with nothing but a gentle touch
thats probably because the mouse is stuff, though. i can live with it.
