A Horror Story
by Spzi
Whilst investigating the death of a local pool extractor, a Cheery worker called Santa Claus uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, shiny snow globe circulating throughout The north pole. As soon as anyone uses the snow globe, he or she has exactly 69 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look skeletal. A marked person feels like a sleepy donkey to touch.
Santa gets hold of the snow globe, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a quiet mouse balancing on a magical pool extractor, an old newspaper headline about a flying accident, a hooded dog ranting about legs and a drinking well located in a snowy place.
When Santa notices his eyebrows have donkey-like properties, he realises that the curse of the shiny snow globe is true and calls in his worker, a reader called Elf , to help.
Elf examines the snow globe and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the quiet mouse balancing on a magical pool extractor particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Santa and Elf pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded dog. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
"This is actually pretty scary. I'll never be able to look at another shiny snow globe for as long as I live."
- The Daily Tale
"Oh please! There's nothing scary about a quiet mouse balancing on a magical pool extractor. Are we supposed to feel spooked?"
- Enid Kibbler
"The hooded dog really freaked me out."
- Hit the Spoof
"I hope Santa and Elf get married."
