ON THE SUBJECT OF: WTF IS THIS THREAD

I originally planned for this to be used as my personal receptacle for nation roleplaying ideas, however, I've decided to expand it so anyone may post their roleplay in development and receive assistance in whatever it is they need.

ON THE SUBJECT OF: NATION RPS

Nation roleplays are a unique form of forum game in which players control countries set within a certain time period. These periods may differ in technology, warfare, or other subjects; all of which are played with in the confines of a nation RP. These areas of gameplay must be monitored and organized by the OP so that players have a streamlined and fun experience.

ON THE SUBJECT OF: WHO MADE YOU THE AUTHORITY?

I'm not and was never appointed it. Nation RPs have existed long before I've been using BLF, most notably the Earth X.0 series. My brand of nation RPs, however, are not space or science fiction related. They are bound in particular eras of human history and thus provide a necessary wall of realism to contain ridiculous powergaming while simultaneously teaching history in a very interactive and personal way--a brand which has caught fire and been faithfully reincarnated by other users.

If you'd like a portfolio of some of my best nation RPs, here's a few (and their era's years):
(~1300 - ~2010)
(1949 - 1995)
(1936 - 1944)
(1949 - 1990)
(1836 - 1892)

ON THE SUBJECT OF: BASIC MECHANICS

A few of the basic mechanics relating to a nation RP are warfare and technology. Warfare will have to be an abstract yet malleable concept, e.g. arbitrary troop sizes engaging others in battle. Sometimes you may opt not to have technology counted in your RP, which is perfectly acceptable. However, if you do plan to use technology, you should organize into something known as a technology tree.

Technology trees can look like any of the following:

Linear progression

Web progression

Tree progression

It's recommended that you keep these as simple and small as possible, however. Remember that your audience is playing a text-based roleplay game and not an actual videogame. Also, don't use a tree where you could use a linear progression model. Overcomplication is an issue.

Forsaken Forest is planned to have w🎩, right?

Forsaken Forest is controlled by a group of Raiders with Down syndrome that call themselves the blos.

Wartime Barracks boss suggestion: A v0002 veteran(or anything pre-V21)that will stop at nothing to get Maps back, no matter how extreme?

do you have any ideas for a particular person?

should've made the Fourt stuffpost Empire contain a swastika :cookieMonster:

You should add another one, Development board, call it something like "The Ruins of the North"

Because it's on the top of the page

glorious

testing potential dungeon mechanics and design (stone tile floors and whatnot not included yet)

What did you use to make that?

I also think Ruins of the North should be far away from the main island, so it has its own map, and like, has people rioting for the maps back or something

I'm using gimp to make everything
