i'd like to stress this bit:

you're the captain of your ship

you are not the ship as a whole, and you can cause civilian outrage to the point of revolt

so don't do stuff atypical of your country, historically. anything /outrageously/ atypical. this is still supposed to make loving sense.

well, you can do somewhat ahistorical, but they still have to make sense

Also, are some minor things important in a way ? like a nation under controll of an empire it hates, and the nation's rebels or poititians can be used as cannonfodder.

May do a smaller scale of Anagaea, like on a continent a bit larger than NF:ID.  Pending updates.  Still working on High Crimes, also.  May additionally make a strategy game like battleship, except with a more personal element.

if a nation or ethnic group or whatever is getting pissed, they can revolt (like if india got really fed up, it could attempt independence or something)

if you've got a colony you can levy a colonial army so you don't waste your manpower at home

yep. if there's a rebellion happening you can either aid a particular side or directly intervene. at the start of the game, there's a mexican civil war, a chinese civil war, and soon-to-be american civil war occurring. feel free to take sides
