Author Topic: Crippling AllDaySavings Ads in Steam  (Read 1505 times)

I get a crippling number of ads when I  boot up Steam, all "Powered by AllDaySavings!". I downloaded this once after accidentally installing a shady internet re-upload of WinRAR. After realizing it was from CNET because it plastered me with offers, I immediately clicked "Cancel Install." Should've used task manager to kill it. After cancelling it quickly said "INSTALLING OFFERS..." and within seconds had Installed tons of adware all over my PC. With various adware and virus killers and browser resets I managed to get rid of them all throughout the week, excluding Steam. I've had these in Steam for a year now and nothing I do can get rid of them.

Steam has 500 GB of games on it. I can't reinstall.

holy forget what

ninjedit to add to the conversation: i think i've only seen this like, once. is there a process running? the program is not gone from your PC

Have you tried programs like Adwcleaner? Even regular antiviruses might work.

I've downloaded and run:

Kaspersky Internet Security (Default Antivirus)
MalwareBytes
RogueKiller

Welp, was gonna recommend MBAM.
Don't know if you seen this or not, but some of this might work:

delete steam, aside from steamapps, and reinstall.

You can reinstall steam without deleting the library

You don't lose your games if you reinstall steam. Although you might have to reinstall them.

how the forget is that even possible?

how the forget did you manage to get an adware on steam?
I SAW THAT EDIT

go inside your program files (86) folder and check for any weird programs like "ShoepDropp" "DouubuleCuut" or "HlelePMe"
