Author Topic: Steam is as slow as stuff[FIXED]  (Read 1614 times)

Some how steam is being as slow as stuff.
It takes a second or two for anything to happen. When I hover over a game title in the library the name doesn't highlight until a second or two later. The same goes for the rest of the steam client.
I have turned it on and off again, the ingame client is fine and my antivirus has not affected steam in the past

FIX:

Try deleting everything in steam except for Steamapps, Steam.exe, and optionally themes.
When you launch steam.exe, steam will re-download everything else.

All I can say is to defragment your computer and if that doesn't help then I don't know.

We need more info than that to help, I hope you don't use Norton AV, that uses 99% Disk usage all the time, Chrome is a RAM hog too, I would recommend waterfox.

If that doesn't work than I suggest checking in the Task Manager to see what else is using the disk and ram.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that everything else works fine

Unfortunately not so bright people use Norton.

I hope this works, although my parents email provider is unavailable for some odd reason so I can't long into steam.
