If you could travel back or forward in time where would you go?

So I had the idea of time travel and I want to know what people would do if they had the advantage to go back to the past or future. Think of it like back to the future. I know there has been a few threads with the same concept before but you get the question.

If I could go back in time I would go to 1942 and participate in world war II but with a twist. I would take weapons from the present with a huge amount of ammo and travel back in time. Then on D-day I would get my phone and take hundreds of pictures of what happened.

I would also go back to all dates the world cup took place and see what it was like to watch it in the stadium back then

if I could guarantee that, IF humans were still around, I'd be safe and in the same place they are, 2000 years into the future

I don't think I'd be that concerned about whether or not humans would still be around, when making the decision
if we aren't, I think I'd end up dying. but in that case it wouldn't really matter, because if we weren't, it would be kinda pointless to do anything else anyway
but if we were, I'd be alive in a presumably much more technologically advanced time, which would be cool

maybe even a million years. I mean, that's a much bigger risk of us NOT being around, but if we were, I can't imagine what it would be like, but it would probably be cool too
