Author Topic: Salinas California Police Department caught beating a man  (Read 10366 times)

it's another one of those Ferguson-styled schemes to make police look like killers.

The public is extremely misinformed in regards to this man. Jose Velasco (the man being beaten) was high on meth
Yes, very similar. Much like Ferguson where the entire town was simultaneously strung out on meth during the riots.

I see that, however you said "i can't really put this in the perspective of "innocent minority is beaten by evil cop". I don't think that has any place in this, the only one who even brought up race here was you, and the notion that cops are evil is just simply handicapped. The people who portray them to be evil are the ones who are really evil.
well alright man, if you read my post over you'll see that "ferguson style scheme to make police look like killers" and "innocent minority killed by evil cops" are the same thing, just said different.

i gotta say, you threw me a curveball by calling me tribal when i essentially mirrored your stance. interesting tactic.

I cant give you a definitive answer to that, but who knows, really. All I know is that having dozens of low-income people, and ill-informed college students studying the liberal arts in one group together is a very bad combination.

I did not directly call you a tribal, for that matter, I didn't even imply that you were one. I just was perplexed as to why you'd bring race into this.

You heard it here folks. The central cause of social disorder is humanities courses.

from my observations to date that actually seems to be a fair statement

At least we have one intellectual. I admire you Kearn.

I see Igloos is trying to start stuff again.

police shouldn't be beating people near to death, they should be detaining them
Unfortunately the world isn't a nice place.

The event was caught on camera here:

Anyway even though the man is being tazed he still isn't complying. He was trying to get up and reach for the officer. Kept trying to get up, tazer wasn't doing anything.

Procedure dictates that if they attempt to reach or take something off your belt you don't approach them until they can be properly contained. The use of force continuum allows officers to beat someone with a baton to incapacitate them, you are even allowed to break bones. All as long as the use of force continuum permits it and the officer can articulate why he did what he did in the report.

Everyone thinks they are expert, people are going to play this as another helpless minority dude getting smacked down by evil power hungry whities. Everyone is going to believe that the government is becoming more and more corrupt and say that cops are becoming out of control.

Personally I think intro to criminal justice should be mandatory for highschool students. I also believe that more departments should practice community policing. Anything to break the stereotypes and misconceptions about police.

I agree with you on every point, beside the Igloos part. I'm not trying to start anything, I am just trying to educate the uneducated.

I'm pretty sure Kearn was being mostly satirical, although I can't be totally certain.

I am just trying to educated the uneducated.
And yet somehow you can't even comprehend something as simple as verb tenses.

or fundamental math as we've seen before.

It was a typo, I thank you for pointing that out. Where have I demonstrated my math skills on the BLF?

If Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians make up a total of nearly 5.5M people in the city, and out of 8M, only 3.5M are white, how would whites be the majority?
Blacks, Hispanics and Asians are considered to be a minority in the US overall, while in NYC they outnumber whites. Therefore, whites are the minorities.
remeber that time you tried to convince everyone that whites were the minority in NYC by combining the numbers of 3 minority groups into one big megarace?

5.5/3 = 1.8

1.8 < 3.5
the explanation in case you actually still don't understand why that's wrong.

judging from his previous posts he isn't
