future paradox?

recently someone posted a thread about if you could go somewhere in time where would you go
but if you went into the future, you'd be gone in time for the amount of time you traveled into the future, so you would not EVER see your future self, unless you traveled into a dimension where you did not time travel into the future.

im really confused. i might just make a megathread about things im really confused about. that's kinda confusing cause what is actually generalized as a megathread

well see, you may see yourself if you did this:

1. go into the future
2. go into the past and see yourself from step 1.

this loop in the paradox concerns going back in time, going into the future doesn't do anything until you manage to figure out how to go into the past in the first place.
