Author Topic: what's going on with my GPU  (Read 389 times)

i was playing rust with MSI afterburner enabled and I got good FPS whenever my GPU's temp was 75-80 C but when it's anywhere from 60-74 C it is very choppy and unplayable.

I thought it was a heating issue. It's a COOLING issue.
??????????????????????????????

My uneducated guess is your PSU maybe?

your computer could be drawing more power than its supposed to so it cuts the power going to the gpu or something

I'm sure someone has a better answer/guess

perhaps the fan threw it over the edge?

i have a 350w power supply and i ran the numbers through a power calculator and it said i'm only using 288w

It's an estimate
As components age I believe the power usage increases a bit
It may not be the problem but if it was me I'd still buy a higher power psu
