Author Topic: Reddit banned some subreddits & pissed off hundreds of thousands of people  (Read 14807 times)

1) SRS does not, in any way, condone or encourage brigading. SRD doesn't either
lmao get out of here

2) Putting pictures and info of imgur staff in the sidebar and posting about it is harassment by FPH. There is literally no way you can defend this.
According to one of my friends who I was talking about this with (and this is unconfirmed by the way) said that all the pics of the imgur staff are publicly available on their site, but I haven't been able to find it myself.

lmao get out of here
10/10 argumentation totally convinced me

i never ever tried to defend fph so don't even lol. I might've been mistaken with the brigading, though i haven't seen any come from it. Regardless, it still doesn't explain why the measure wasn't more complete
you said that fph didn't brigade or harass- which is why it was banned in the first place. neither of the other subreddits had blatantly admin-approved harassment (putting images of the imgur staff in their loving sidebar) so they didn't get banned. it's as simple as that.

sorry, but you're objectively wrong. there are no opinions here, only facts.

Is there any proof of people being investigateed or calls for harassment being supported by the mods? I don't quite feel comfortable believing that without proof. Though I don't doubt that there were some people who may have done it privately, I'd really need some evidence to show that it was endorsed by the mods there. Like, there wasn't even any calls for harassment on the new subreddit that got taken down and that one barely had any moderation.

Also, they banned several other subreddits even though they weren't affiliated with the original subreddit.

SRS is known for brigading and even the admins acknowledged that fact in their announcement post. Their reasoning was that they havent been caught doing it recently.

Tbh the reason they dont ban SRS is because they wouldnt dare touch ultra-feminist subreddits for the stuff storm it would cause PR-wise.

The subreddit was banned because they followed people into other subreddits and made fun of them.

Being a douche is allowed - Being a douche and having horrible views is allowed - Being a douche and having horrible views and bringing them into other subreddits is not.

You do know that only mods can edit the sidebar, right? The image of the imgur staff is condoning harassment in itself.

Even more than that - being a douche, having horrible views, bringing them into other subreddits, and encouraging harassment of people is NOT allowed.

and i admitted i might have been mistaken. You were wrong about srs not brigading though, the reddit admins even admitted they were involved.

the difference is that I have seen srs brigades, i haven't seen fph brigades. Could you post some fph brigades?

Im too lazy to look around but often when a fat person made the frontpage of a sub their pic was taken and crossposted to fph where they bashed them, and it would follow back to the original post
