1 month since i last drank tea,and ??? years since i last drank tea not from a restaurent.

People who drink a single can of soda every day versus people who don't have an 18% higher rate of type 2 diabetes.

You drink 200-300% more than that. That's what's bad about drinking soda.
I don't doubt this statistic, but does your source suggest that it's the one can a day that is responsible for the increase in risk, or is it that the lifestyle that accomodates a can a day comes with other factors leading to the increase, such as a tendency to consume other high-sugar snacks and food and therefore exceed their GDA of sugar?

If your intake of sugar and fat in a day was balanced to allow for that daily can would you still have the same increased risk?

Whats so bad about drinking soda, I drink coca cola on a daily basis at least 3 or 4 times a day.
Then again recently Arizona's have become my addiction, but when crystal pepsi comes back that's what I'm drinking.
it's p much useless calories. you don't gain anything but weight from drinking it.

never drank a sip of soda in my life, same for coffee.

milk for life \:^)

That's funny, I've been keeping track myself. I last drank coffee on October 3rd right before basketball season started.

I never really drink carbonated drinks anymore either unless it's beer. It's too good to give up.

What I enjoy in place of sodas (although i will still drink them on occasions) is sparkling fruit flavoured water.
I don't have a full list of ingrediants but at least some part of the flavouring is from fruit juice.
As for GDA, 250ml contains;
5 kcal
<0.5g fat (<0.1% GDA)
  <0.1g of which saturated
<0.5g carbohydrates (all sugar) (<0.1% GDA)
<0.5g fibre
<0.5g protein (<0.1% GDA)
<0.1g salt (<0.1% GDA)

Really, it's just the fizziness that I find to be pleasant out of cola.
These are a good replacement and a good source of water.

I drink a few cups of coffee and tea a week. My only carbonated beverage is beer and that's a few glasses every couple weeks.

I sometimes take caffeine before a heavy weight lifting session. Not too much or you get jittery!

I've moved from drinking coffee and soda daily to having decaf coffee cause I still like the flavor

After I stopped drinking soda, I tried another and it just tasted nasty. Not drinking anymore was pretty easy after that.

I drink like 6 sodas a day

It's been a while since I've drank soda or coffee.
It's not that hard, you just have to break the addiction.

But it tastes soooo gooood.

Why must everything that taste good be bad for you.
It's not bad for you if you don't consume inordinately large amounts of it.

I think even a single soda every day isn't that bad if you have a decent diet regardless. That 18% figure factors in people whose diets are just as stuffty as their soda-drinking habits. That doesn't necessarily have to be you.

I drink coca cola on a daily basis at least 3 or 4 times a day.
I drink like 6 sodas a day
jesus h christ harriet tubbyman

I've only been drinking carbonated things when there's nothing else
and even then it's only sprite
as for caffeine, it's been a long time

stick with milk, milk shakes, ice cream (for good measure), and juice (grape is good) and you should be fine for the rest of your life

Well that's why I phrased it so I could emphasize that the statistic is linking soda consumption to a higher incidence of diabetes. It didn't look at any of the other factors, so everything you've brought up is a valid concern.

I tried a sip of coffee once and just spit it out... I don't get how you guys drink that
