I'd like to partially go back on the moral superiority statement. I don't consider a person inherently better than another because they do or don't eat meat. However I do believe it morally better not to eat meat. Eating meat doesn't make you a bad person but not eating meat makes you a slightly better person in my opinion. That's hardly a controversial statement, but saying "I AM MORALLY SUPERIOR" is a rather blunt way of putting it.

Because it does lol. There is a definite hierarchy in living things, and trying to say that animals aren't below humans is incredibly stupid and simpleminded. This is pretty much as close to objective as an opinion can be.

It's not pretentious at all--it's literally the opinion that all life has rights. It's like saying "donating to charity makes you a better person in my opinion". I'm not saying people who don't donate are bad people.

I don't even urge people not to eat meat. Go for it, I just don't agree. It seems like you guys have a hard time accepting a contradictory opinion.
