Don't, unless you're disabled or morbidly obese should you take one
Bike is better and when you get a car you won't use the scooter much anymore anyway

Like I said, I can't afford a car anytime soon, and I'm not getting up 1.5 hours early just to take the bike.

There's just this slightly off-putting thing about shifting gears 6 times just to get to 30mph :|
Does yamaha have any good ones without transmission?

P.S. is Kymco a stuff brand or not?

It's a hefty realization that it's so different over in the US.

Tbh I thought all scooters were like this, no lie.

Most of them are, though.

The main problem with secondhand transmission bikes is that they're all modified to run at like 70km/h which is super illegal.

I meant manual, but most scooters actually don't have some form of switching gear, whether it be automatic or manual. They usually operate on some form of centrifugal clutch, no gears really.

You should skip the scooter and get a 200-300cc bike. Ninja 250 is a world renowned starter bike that's cheap, dependable, sturdy, and plain old fun.

If you're absolutely fixed on getting a scooter though, I'm afraid I don't know much about them. They're extremely uncommon in the U.S.
