Author Topic: Has Disney abandoned their traditional 2d movie style?  (Read 1406 times)

I'm talking about movies and not cartoons, every movie they seem to make today is some 3D cgi.

I don't hate it but it would be nice to see their old style once in awhile.

some disney short films are rendered to look 2d while actually being 3d

It's all about the Ds theses days, the more the better.
3D is flashier and prettier than older flat panel movies and kids dig flashy pretty things.

Yeah I also thought Zootopia was going to be 2D when I first heard about it. Then of course when the teaser came out I found out it was cg animated which made a bit disappointed.
I really do wish more movies were 2D animated especially since with today's technology, there's the potential to create something truly amazing. Besides it be refreshing to see something as such.

i miss traditional animation stuff :(

I prefer all or nothing. I hate seeing animes and cartoons were characters are hand drawn while things like cars and special effects are done in 3D.

I lean mostly toward 2D though, especially when you combine a talented artist with rotoscoping

I've always been mostly okay with things like that. Especially since it usually blends in with the 2D style anyway.

Okay, it usually mostly tries to blend in with the 2D style.
