I guess freedom only applies if you're part of big business. The Australian Government has all but passed a bill (with no way to block it unless the Governor-General disagrees with it) that, while currently specifically targeted at Pirate Bay, is so general and open that it could very well be applied to the internet as a whole.

The level of bullstuff stemming from this decision is incredible. I'd go and pick up a VPN, but this bill could be applied to them too.

It means that everything in the world except the final result has happened to something.

In this case, the bill has passed through every single stage it needs to become active law in Australia EXCEPT for the final approval by the Governor-General. It's therefore all-but-passed.
