Author Topic: Anyone remember Lego Universe?  (Read 2146 times)

i was in the beta, and though it was a pretty cool game and i got sorta far, a lot of stuff was pretty bullstuff, at least as far as my memory goes

the chat system was terrible [iirc, you had to make chat lines out of pre-chosen words]
the building was AWFUL [only build stuff in your own little place that no one would ever stumble upon by mere happen-upon]

the game had a pretty cool premise and looked gorgeous, though.

GARNET AMETHYST AND PERL AND LEGO

One of my favorite games ever.

then you were not in beta. because the predetermined chat use was for f2p members ONLY, and ONLY a year after the game launched did f2p even exist.

it was kinda stuffty imo, too kid friendly.  but i guess blockland did that to me.

Holy loving stuff, it's like every goddam child on the Internet will fight to the tooth and nail in order to bring this thing back.

Here's a fun idea; LET IT GO.

Your fan games suck. Your wikis suck. Your LMB petitions suck.

I remember being part of the alpha and beta because I was in the "Lego Inner Circle" or something like that. I even posted a topic with pictures when I wasn't suppose to lmao.

Of course I remember. I got into the beta (although I could barely run it at the time) and then later my bro and I purchased a subscription for a month. I'd probably still play it if it was around. :'(

still have my beta codes and that lego universe cd box that came with that orange space man

I was an Alpha Tester, a Beta Tester, and a Founder (pre-ordered it).

It was fun. I have many fond memories of playing with my friends who stuck with it from Alpha to Launch.

However, I felt it didn't live up to its creative potential.

I was always looking forward to building-related updates every month, but the primary focus was typical MMO activities (Smash X enemies, Collect Y items).

In the LEGO message boards I suggested brick building missions as an alternative to combat missions, but got negative feedback.

When I first read the Assembly Summoner could 'summon their creations', I was hyped. I thought I could use one of my custom builds to fight for me.
Instead, I could summon 3 different prefabricated creatures.

Speaking of which, the 4 factions made no sense to me. Imagine an MMO based on Hamburgers. Now, imagine there are 4 factions players can join: Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Tacos, and Ice Cream.

The factions (Assembly, Venture, Sentinels, Paradox) resulted in players wearing 12 specific outfits for convenience and petty arguments.

Looking back, it was a good game, but not the right game. They would've been more successful had they released LEGO Worlds back then instead.
