I only have access to default bricks, and not events. How can I stop fall damage from an extreme height?

I have to fall down here.
I can move ghost bricks down there. I don't want a way for people to get up.

only bricks and no events?
I'd say maybe a catcher made out of ramps, or bricks to land on for the way down, jumping from one platform to another all the way down

Use ramps to make a shape like this:
...

...
...
...
...
....
....
....
.....
.....
......
......
.......
........
..........
.............
......................
.............................
.............................
............

.............................
............
Players landing on the steep part will slide along the curve on to the flat surface and can then slow down without getting killed.

use tall constructs of water bricks to slow their landing

That might be an even better way, one or two water bricks should be all it takes to slow down a fall

Thanks, I'll try those. I'll update when I make them
