My only constructive criticisms on this is that the shoes look weird being bent and that yeah he has a mini seizure at the start of his kick.

Other than that it's good for a first animation, however short.

There's some odd glitch in DarkStar's rig that makes the shoes all deformed and bent, so that's probably it.
