Author Topic: post your computer space thread  (Read 4097 times)

will someone tell me why PC games take up more space than their console counterparts even though they seem to play the same?
Console games still take up a lot of space too. Take COD:AW for example, it takes 50GB on both PCs and newer consoles. I'd imagine GTA V on the PS4 and Xbox One would be around maybe the same space too since thats what the PC port is based off of, not the PS3 and 360 versions which are significantly lower in size due to being in much lower quality.

What about the biggest game you have?

Payday 2 - 22GB.  I don't have GTAV.  There's probably 100GB of games that I have completed.  I don't delete anything until I need to make room for a new game.

i wonder what baddy's specs are?

I upgraded not too long ago:

i7-4790K @ 4GHz
16GB RAM
GTX 970
XP 941 SSD for OS (~1GB/s read)

Hilariously, the "Windows Experience Index" is stuck at 7.8 due to the CPU, despite it literally being the fastest processor you can buy for single thread performance.

But can it run Blockland max shaders?

EDIT:

I have 4690k and 970. This is rigged.

yeah, it says that for me as well but my cpu is an i7-5820k which i hear isn't as good for single core performance

I assume that's because it runs at a lower frequency. Still that Intel 6 core 12 thread dream.

I only have one permanent hard drive, the recovery thing is only for backups and I don't actually use it.

My computer at work :(

The guy who built this PC was dumb. The case is absolutely hideous, and it has a decent GPU (Radeon HD 7560), but not even enough VRAM to run GTA:V on minimum. I realize I can just buy new hardware, but it's not in my budget at the moment.
