How to be a good Admin or Host 101

How,you ask?

1. Don't ban for reasons like, go smok weed u nub. Ban with, reasons like Breaking rule x, warning x

2. Just because you're an admin doesn't mean you get special treatment. One of my least favorite rules is Respect all form of staff. Don't do that.

3. Enforce the rules properly. Don't perma A first time player for breaking a rule once.

4. Don't rage over little things. If you get killed in game, big deal. Deal with it.

5. The best form of punIshment is A KICK. Don't ban the first time someone breaks a rule.

6. If you're a host, pick trusted admins. Consider super admins super carefully. Moderators usually get the best start as moderation and once they get admin, they know how to control it. They abuse the least.

Follow this and you'll be good at admiring!

1:Administration
Only assign trustworthy individuals admin. Be sure to rule with a somewhat lenient grasp, ban when someone accidentally breaks a rule and noone will want to join in fear of being banned. Don't ban at all and you will only get troublemakers.

2: gameplay
Gameplay does not necesarily need to be original but it helps. Instead of making something completely new spring off something known. Take a tdm and add sportscars or other things to convince players your server is the best. Despite what people say an rp is actually a very good thing to host.

3: build
Don't settle for good enough. If people don't like looking at it they won't want to stay. Vary colors and stay away from effects except when necessary

Hosting 101:
-Being Nice-  Someone has just fell off a cliff and killed themselves...what would be the best reaction as the host? THINK!
-Giving Ranks- Yes, I was dumb on admin giving... But, you must know them well, know how much it was hard to get a rank on a different server...
-Playing- Cheating while playing with the players is NOT suggested, this may make ppl not like it when you are playing with them...
-Legit Banning- Perma-banning should not be used alot, it should be RARE. If abusing chat, use mute first.

Being Admin 101:
-Being Nice- Pretty much same as the host part, how would you react as an admin
-Legit Banning- Also, same as host part...
-Playing- Yep, same
You never know when the Host is watching the Console, so just behave as admin!!

The most important part of being a good host is to be welcoming to people who join your server. Players tend to stay longer when the host is there and acting like he/she actually cares.

Do not use orb powers to your advantage, only if you are stuck or you need to see something quickly, like this guy who made a CTF but you need to collect treasure, he was orbing to my side and then orbing back to his to get away.

Well yeah of course. It's not like you aren't allowed to have a stuffty server. But of course, if you're going to make bad decisions and ignore any suggestions for administration improvement then backlash is going to insue.
Personally I believe in being a peoples person as a host. Just act nice, have fun with the players, and show you actually care about hosting the server, but don't be a total softie. Take authority when needed and don't have tolerance for people who go against any of your rules.
