Author Topic: What course should I take for college/university?  (Read 1126 times)

As you may not know, I'm going to be going into university this fall, and I need help picking out my last elective.
Basically i get to pick whatever entry-level course I want.

Here's a list of classes that they recommend: http://umanitoba.ca/u1/media/pdf/recommended_introductory_courses.pdf
I'd greatly prefer 3 credit hour courses, over 6 credit hour courses. It makes my schedule lighter.

Bonus points if it's in the arts faculty. Post your suggestions!

Introduction to Electrical & Computer Engineering

go for entymology. sounds really cool- get to mess around with bugs and stuff.

Introduction to Electrical & Computer Engineering

and for god's sake don't take philosophy, theoretical mathematics, humanities etc

The Mathematics of Quantum Neutrino Fields

and for god's sake don't take philosophy, theoretical mathematics, humanities etc
I'm going for a Computer Science degree, unfortunately I have to take theoretical mathematics, including but not limited to statistical brown townysis and calculus. I can however take applied calculus, which is about more real-world applications of calculus rather than all theoretical stuff.

I was thinking of taking PHIL 1290, Critical Thinking. Was thinking it could help with my problem solving abilities in computer science and math.

Definitely take Yiddish.

:D

Yeah this is probably my favorite. Maybe environmental science too.

seriously

when will people realize that programming is more actual math than "fake maths"

It seems that applied calculus is catered towards engineering students, and I don't think I'm planning on doing anything related to engineering, but maybe I should keep my options open on that end. Thoughts?

Definitely take Yiddish.
pls

I might wanna take this actually, I read the course description and it seems that it might be a nice light-weight course.
