Author Topic: if you injected a carbonated liquid into your blood stream and shook around..  (Read 932 times)

would all your veins explode?
I've had this on my mind since 2013

you would most likely die

I guess if you cut yourself...?

It'd just hurt, a lot. Like getting the bends underwater.

something like this exists and its called Decompression Sickness.

its really neat and you don't want this to happen to you.

The air it would generate would create many bubbles in your blood stream and kill you.

I had that happen to me and it wasn't fun at all.

Injection with a carbonated drink would cause Co2 to build up and go to your brain and it'd starve for O2 causing a stroke or embolism.

What would happen is that the bubbles would pool in major arteries and block blood flow entirely. It's called an air embolism and it will forget your stuff up.

you're thinking of carbon monoxide, not CO2.

Considering that carbonated water contains H2CO4 and CO2 travels as H2CO4 through your bloodstream, theoretically, nothing should happen. Then again, the undigested bullstuff of the liquid would kill you. Coke, for example.
