Three men walk into a hotel. They want to have a room for the night (hot), so they walk to the front desk. The clerk tells them that the room is $30, so they each give him $10 and go to the room. However, the clerk realizes that he overcharged them. The room was actually $25, so he calls the bellboy and tells him to return $5 to the occupants. The bellboy takes the $5, but on the way, he realizes that there isn't really a fair way to divide $5 among three people. The bellboy takes $2 for himself, since the occupants don't even know they are getting a refund yet, and gives the remaining $3 to them so they each get one more dollar. Now the men have paid $27 for their room and the bellboy has $2.
