Author Topic: Ask a woodland landscaper anything  (Read 1020 times)

Another AMA except who else has to deal with insects/snakes that can kill you?

Yeah, Me and my father landscape our property by cleaning fallen trees ( which 58% of our forest is ), clearing rocks placed by construction crews that have no purpose after construction is finished, mowing dense vegetation ( resorting to machetes and axes sometimes ), and cleaning gravel driveways. We often replant the fallen trees and etc. We often deal with Cotton mouth and Copperheads, stinging insects, brown recluses, Black widows, wolf spiders, and mosquitoes.

Ask me anything

Do you get paid at all?
it is more like a chore for me but yeah. $15 every 2 weeks, can't get hired because of age but I still earn money

do you enjoy it
Yeah but when your being chased by 15 horseflies your mind sort of goes into the negative. Once you've done all your work the place looks totally different and a lot cleaner than it was and I like that.

you wake up at 4 PM???

how much wood could a woodchuck chuck

It's been awhile since I was out wood cutting. Those pics are from early February. Once spring hit we were able to get up on the giant hill behind the house and start cutting more trees down.
