Author Topic: I found Chinese Buzzfeed  (Read 926 times)

So I found a Chinese newspaper for a small town and it's strangely satisfying to click through the low-text articles and look at the images.  It's nice to see Chinese people do the same awful journalism as Americans. I don't know what this is about the pictures are hilarious. The clickbait is all Chinese so I just gotta go by the images.

Site may be NSFW. Local Chinese newspaper so probably not.

what if it's actually communist propaganda in disguise

Face inspection: the site

these chinese people are so weird

Asian people love getting cosmetic surgery to look like white people (it's a common graduation gift), is that what this article is about?

10 CCP members you won't believe were reactionaries!

this is actually true. My brother was in China for 2 months and people kept stopping to take pictures with him and saying things like "I've always wanted to be white". Kinda weird because most people in the US would not want to change their skin color even if they thought it would be beneficial.

i'm keeping this

My grandparents were missionaries and i spent a large portion of my childhood in China (about 6 years)

There's so much i want to talk about when these kinds of topics pop up, its a truly interesting place. Especially in early 2000

Then do it! Spill all the juicy details. I love hearing about people's experience living in foreign cultures.

wtf are missionaries even allowed in china
seems that that would be frowned upon by the whole communist-atheist government thing

A long time ago they weren't from what i recall. They had to obtain work visas and provide a service to be let into the country. I think that's changed a bit since China has been leaning more capitalistic lately
