Author Topic: NASA Finds Kepler-452b - New Earth-like Planet  (Read 3249 times)

You can tune in here http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nasa-news-audio

Nobody knows what they are showing or if it might be big or not. So might as well watch to see what it is.

Apparently they are also making a new telescope that will be able to tell if the planet can harbor life. Exciting times!

forget yes more planets

So apparently they discovered a planet eerily close to earth in terms of being able to support life.

Also it's WAY older than earth so life's a possibility on it.

It's far away.
Too far away to do any missions

One thing that makes me kinda sad is the knowledge that I probably won't live long enough to see interplanetary travel. But still, these kinda of discoveries are absolutely fascinating.

not for long

not for long
Unless we can get a FTL drive or enlarge wormholes, good luck.

it just went off
i was wondering if this happened to anyone else, i thought i was the only one :(

not for long
even if you were travelling faster than light speed it would take over a thousand years to get there

you won't, scientists in that field will.

can we please not jump the gun on sending radio signals and stuff to this planet
its two billion years older than us, who knows what could be living there
in a game like DayZ you don't just run out in the open yelling "HEY HEY LOOK AT ME I HAVE A NICE HABITABLE PLANET!"

it'll take a very long time for the radio signals to actually reach that planet, if they aren't intercepted or interrupted before they even reach it
