I think I only get lucid dreams right before I wake up
even then, I have no control, sometimes I have little, but not much
does it still count?

I once had a lucid dream in which I was held hostage in my bedroom by a demonic shadowy horse skull while trying to wake myself up

I have terrible mental discipline

I once dreamt that i was on the forums, and I realised I was dreaming, so I made the administrators (Badspot, Rotondo, etc) commit forum Self Deletes, and then Ephialtes banned them both
Hue

I've learned a lot about lucid dreaming from Giz Edwards' videos on YouTube (he's got a great channel, you should check him out if you want some of the most legitimate information about lucid dreaming)

op, you and that website are incorrect about sleep paralysis. it's not a "condition" or a "disorder," it's a natural process that happens every night before anyone goes to sleep. its purpose is to keep the body from acting out the dreams going on in your mind, and is done by your body checking with your brain to see if you're asleep by sending you signals, such as an itch or an urge to roll over. anyway, you're not supposed to be aware while your body goes through sleep paralysis and the WILD technique requires it.

so yeah

Sleep paralysis is a disorder, REM Atonia is the correct term for the natural process you're describing. but it really doesnt matter refer to it what you want

If it takes 3 years to lucid dream, your doing something wrong

But anyways I've had a few, but the thing that makes them scary to attempt is sleep paralysis which I've heard is like a waking nightmare

I have been doing stuff wrong, mainly don't really get committed to it/DJ and basically give up after a little bit of time but my interest sparks every few months.

when i was little i always blinked during bad dreams so i would wake up but i no longer have that ability :(

i havent had a bad dream for 2 months.infact, i didnt dream at all for 2 months. i went to bed, waited seemingly 5 minutes, and awoke.
also i sleep for exactly 8 hours for some reason,  no alarm clock either.

last night i finally dreamed.
ssb4, i was playing with glitchissss that dont exist.
for example,
quit a match early, i can pick new character, but wait
it still has same moves plus new ones. wow.
i played online matches and rekt them, but eventually i woke up and was upset.

I fell asleep once and toward the end where I was shot with an arrow I told myself it was a dream and the arrow disappeared but when I woke up there was an actual arrow in my chest.

try low-dose psychedelics to aid lucid dreaming, i feel like that would help.

like, half a gram of mushrooms or a quarter hit of acid or something.

if you're in to that sort of thing

also i read somewhere that if you go to sleep and wake up about 5 hours later to an alarm then go back to sleep as fast as possible it forgets with the melatonin and cortisol levels in your brain, causing melatonin to drop and cortisol to rise, basically taking you to a lighter stage of sleep or something and it makes it a lot easier to have a lucid dream or experience sleep paralysis. don't quote me on that though, that's just how i remember it.

you dream every night you just dont realize it

I havent lucid dreamed in years. Mainly cause of my fear of sleep paralysis or astro projection.

I've started to have semi-lucid dreams. I usually gain control near the end of the dreams, however I don't really, realize I'm sleeping though.

Any time I consciously realize I'm sleeping that's when my dreams tend to stop. Other times when it hasn't, I've tried to conjure up something and then the dream fades away as if it couldn't manage to find a mental image of it.

is sleep paralysis a form of lucid dreaming

I'm scared I won't be able to end the dream.

Has anyone here had a dream that genuinely felt like it lasted for a week or more and completely forget that you're dreaming, then waking up super confused as the dream ends?
