So scientists have discovered a way to "teleport" a single atom three meters away.

Technically, it's not really transporting the atom (it's transferring information to another, identical atom) but it's still an exciting and fascinating prospect.

teleportation would be nice

so... in theory if the same idea was used to teleport a human (i'm not saying this is possible lol), the human would be killed and have an exact clone of it transferred with all it's memories and stuff, with this individual THINKING that he was the same person. that's such a weird thought

Watch the second teleportation becomes public, LDRs (long distance relationships, mostly friends or partner(s) ) will become a thing of the past.
Most of the peeps in LDRs will be furries.    :^)

as long as commercial teleportation doesn't go the "create a clone, then destroy the original" method
then it's cool

hadn't this already happened a long time ago
quantum entanglement and stuff

you can't actually transfer information using quantum entanglement since the "information" inside the atom is always random

no that was for computers and sending information instantaneously over vast distances

it is a weird thought, but when you think of it like cutting off your arm then instantly putting it back on as if it were new, you're still the same person inside

um

isn't that what teleportation is
sending information instantaneously over vast distances?

wait but someone's richard atoms can escape and get in your food
then you'd be eating richard
stuff

that already happens

there's probably plenty of dead skin all over your food

my cat already teleports everywhere when im not looking
