Author Topic: How dangerous is it to disable PSU fan?  (Read 9184 times)

My PSU doesn't turn its fan on unless its needed (Corsair HX750). I hardly ever hear it rev up.

Allow me to rephrase. If you managed to kill yourself with the power supply of a personal computer, you either deserve a Darwin Award or have a weak heart or something.

Ok, I am not taking it apart but this loving fan is getting on my nerve. Wouldn't one fan spinning in the PSU be enough?

Or not. Capacitors can be dangerous. What do you get out of being an ass towards people who didn't know about the dangers of them? Clearly you don't understand the danger either.

If someone can take a lightning bolt I really don't see how you can kill yourself on an unplugged ps. Just calling it how I see it not trying to be an ass. The kid probably had a weak heart.

Hell, let's get real honest. Most PC savvy people(to the point of taking apart a power supply by yourself at 16) aren't exactly going to be the most fit humans out there.

You shouldn't "call it how you see it" if you're this ignorant. Thanks.

A single case isn't not proof enough that it's a highly dangerous thing. You're not going to drowned in any puddle you see after that one guy managed it.

ok go unplug your computer and touch your psu when it's dismantled
tell us how it feels if you live

If you survive then stick a fork into an outlet.

Lmfao are you really upset? I already said that yes it would cause serious damage, but it should not kill the average human. Maybe it's because my line of work, but I know for a fact that people are more resilient than you all seem to think.
