Author Topic: Today in Stupid: The UK outlaws computers  (Read 5950 times)

Uhh wouldn't this render smartphones illegal as well?

Because they do all of what a computer does that violates the copyright law.

There is bag milk in America
i live in the same state as you and i have never seen bag milk
where do they sell it

even more interesting is that there are more than one generic brands in canada

p sure unless they look through each and every persons computer they cant do stuff if any of these actions are performed

Things like this happen almost all the time on varying scales. It will not be an issue because it will not be enforced by anyone, and the actual "implied legal circumstances" will be fixed within a week.
Jesus, at least when people throw baby fits about SOPA or whatever, they're actually something that people intend to happen and enforce.

Any copyright holder, and they would entertain it because they're the court. They uphold the law, this is the law.
Well it has never affected anyone before so not really.

Listen, do you think it's a stupid law or not? If so, it should be changed, simple as that. Even if it only exists as a scare tactic, it's a stupid law. I never even mentioned in the OP about people actually going down for this, it's the fact that all that stuff is illegal at all now is what's so absurd.
I don't actually pretend to know that much about the law, but I know it's a lot deeper than the way you portray it which is basically "duuuh all computers r illegal now" which is not the case. Articles always try and exaggerate and people always fall for their tactics to gain viewers. Feeble are you to actually believe any member of parliament would make a decision supposedly so stupid without having good reasons to. Your lack of knowledge of the law is shown by the fact that you think it is recent when it has actually existed since the birth of the computer and digital data, and how it has never been used against the population of the United Kingdom.

I'm pretty sure that sentence alone is structured so wordily that it's probably smarter than anything I'd expect any government to come up with.
