No stop dying.
In news for me I've been eyeing my first equipment for storm chasing. I'm hoping to maybe do some more actual work with it next spring. I'm getting a laptop soon so I'll be installing software, I should be getting a smartphone with a hotspot so that I can have internet on the road, and I think I at least want to get a NOAA weather radio to store in the car (been looking at crank/solar powered model), a digital anemometer with magnetic fasteners so I can put it on and take it off without hassle, a dash camera, and possibly some sort of communications device like a CB radio so I can listen in on police and truck drivers in case they see something interesting.
I kind of went on a voyage today and covered almost 30 miles. I got off work 90 minutes early and noticed some dark defined clouds rolling in on the way home. I continued past my house and drove right through the brunt of it and zigzagged my way along the back of it focusing on the rain free northwest side. I saw a lowering in the clouds from about 10 miles off but had poor view of it due to trees. The storms were not supposed to be severe but I decided to practice and see if I could get closer to that area. I used some of my knowledge of the winding roads, which all have names like O, N, 30, HH, NN, 109, 141, F, B, A, Z, BB, etc to name just a few. My knowledge could not have been any better. I wound up just a mile or so from the lowering in the clouds right on the back side of it as it headed away from me. Perfect tier location for a real life severe storm situation.
