We had a place next to a highway that's tornado sirens were literally just a siren. No lights

probably based on old construction codes

most of the time something only needs to be updated if they're doing construction
so currently they're grandfathered in with the outdated fire alarms, but if they attempt to add a new room off of a wing or something they'll probably have to revamp all of the fire alarms
