Problem with adding gif to signature

I want to add this gif:

to my signature but something is forgety. It says I have 2 characters remaining once I apply the BBCode and link correctly, but when I hit "Change profile" the Characters remaining goes to 5 and I'm left with "[/i" on the end. Can anyone help me with this?
