how tf do you even rank up in this loving game. I've been at 50k for like ever and I only gain like 2 ranks for plays, only the occasional 300-500 to just lose them all in a week

I usually just play maps that tillerino gives me for any pp gains, or use /np on songs i like that i've downloaded and go from there, really just have to keep playing and getting better even if the maps are boring/annoying. Atleast that's how i see it.

it sounds like some bot that shows which maps give the most PP but that sounds like the worst thing for this game to have tbh

It's a bot to help people climb. It suggests songs based on your highest PP scores

the secret is to just play for fun
i find that it's way better to just enjoy osu just because u like to hit circles in whatever cool patterns the mapper came up with, and to find self-improvement from being able to do harder maps rather than being able to increase some stupid ass pp count that isn't even accurate to difficulty anyway

i gave up on increasing PP count but seeing '-53' every time i start up the game to play something isn't exactly encouraging either
