well keep in mind that you might have to confirm your email address before it's actually put into the system. I don't know how the system works so I can't say for sure

Ashley Madison's privacy is frankly stuff. If you put in an email without even verifying it, it records it anyway. If you want to delete your account, you have to pay. Even then, it still keeps your info. It's even worse doing this as now it also has your credit card information. All of this information is included in the hacked files.
Emails by them self are unreliable, to really tell if someone is registered there is to find their account information. (Which is also included in the hacked files.)
