To condense the story and explain it as quickly as possible, what happened was there is a vote being made for the itty bitty plushies and out of the two were a black mermaid and a pasty white police officer. Tumblr flips stuff and signal boosts the damn thing. 4chan catches a whiff of this and hits gold, so now it's a fight between "Officer Moonman" and the Black Mermaid.
