I don't think an actor/director offing himself or other people is something to be hopeful for to be honest! Like when I think of people who make things that I don't like such as David Cage and his "Sadness Trilogy" I don't want him to die I just want him to stop or do better.

Yes, it's just like it, aliens as video games attack Earth, but I think you can copy an idea as long as you bring something different to it that is good and this movie didn't. Everyone who has seen previous Adam Sandler movies are tired of his formulaic movie structure and his weak jokes, and it's 2015.

So, I've read through the TVTropes YMMV page, and it seems like the main problems are a bad premise, a waste of a plot, loveism and stereotyping, the president is Paul Blart mall cop (seriously), it's a video game movie, the advertising agency was DMCAing anything on YouTube involving the word "pixels", even their own official trailer (seriously), they managed to offend the entire Yogscast fanbase (haven't looked into it deeply), and called the movie "Pixels" when it's clearly about voxels.
