Author Topic: Random periods of people's servers being dead  (Read 452 times)

For as long as I've been hosting servers, there must've be around 5-7 periods, each lasting a few days, where no one could join my server. However, outside of those periods of my server being dead, people could join with no problems. This problem has occurred with other people aswell, so I am sure that it is not just me. One of my friends has the same issue the same time as I do. What is causing this? Is Badspot loving around with the game's settings? Does BL go through periods of inconnectivity with certain IP addresses?

PM him. But its probably badspot loving around with some server thingys so yeah.

No, this is your router.

Badspot doesn't just "forget around". He actually does know what he's doing, despite popular beliefs to the contrary.

UPnP is really unreliable. Did you properly forward a port?

No, I have not forwarded my ports because I haven't felt the need to. I might do so soon though, we'll see.

It takes like 30 seconds to set up on a good router. Just forward 22000 or whatever your server is set to use for UDP and TCP and see if people can join.
