Author Topic: Blender Importing DTS  (Read 1203 times)

Hi. I'm trying to get back into blender, and I wanted to see if I could import .dts files to use (mainly for BL items like wrench and wand). Is that possible? I've googled but to no luck.

If its not possible, maybe someone could point me in the direction of a converter or blockland items that Blender can use? Thanks!

Also I didn't know which topic to put this in, so I stuck it in Off-Topic.

port's making a dts importer and exporter

Is there any existing ones?

Has anyone made their own models for bl tools like wrench?

you can open them in shaper, and use that to export them to a usable format
but chances are it won't be a perfect copy

The problem with shaper is animations, and trying to animate any models exported from it. Anything else should work fine.

As for things like player models and animated weapons, http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=281071.0

is ports importer done? I cant find a download link. Also, how would I use the importer?

nvm working on it...

Ok, so I have the add-on all installed and everything, but it wont let me import something like sword.dts from Weapon_Sword

Anyone know why?

Yeah I'm not sure but it won't let me import the .dts. It gives me errors like "no attribute to append" and "location:<unknown location>"

Can anyone help? No one is really responding and I don't know if this is the wrong board for this.

If you could get me a log/an image of the full exception message (Window -> Toggle System Console) that'd be great.

Thank you for replying. This is the error when I try importing wrench.dts

Is this a common problem?

The importer does not yet handle models with embedded animations. The wrench has animations in it.

Ah ok, I see.

My friend gave me a topic featuring items .blend items and vehicles so I no longer need to use the importer. Thanks though.

Good luck on your importer!
