I don't know what to put here, other than that Scriptopia is a server, so lemme describe it!
First off, it's not always up. It's there when I either forget to close it or am playing on it, so it's not going to be up during the day on weekdays.
Secondly, it's an organized freebuild server with addons, some custom-made for the server and not avaliable elsewhere. There are different zones for different things. Want to play around and spawn a million cars to hit bots with? Go to the playground. Want to build pretty? Go to the normal zone. ModTer racetrack? The Huge zone is for you. Your builds will eventually be removed, but they will always be saved somewhere and can be restored.
Most addons are bricks, tools, or other decorative things. There are three or so addons that aren't bricks or part of the normal game.

My name is SuperSuit12 and the server name is Scriptopia Freebuild, and you can find it in the list by sorting alphabetically. My IP is kinda messed up due to firewall or something, so just sort alphabetically. If it isn't there, it's not up or my firewall has decided to start blocking it.

Also, it has some addon examples in spawn. Be sure to turn right and go to the tutorial when you first join! Spawn has lots of things that send chat messages, so be sure to read them.

Yeah! Everyone should make stuffty servers that have nothing unique, nothing original, and nothing new! Otherwise it isn't fair![/sarcasm]

Seriously, the private add-on debate thing is loving stupid. Making a server is comparable to making a business. You have unique that keeps people coming back, and you stop other businesses from having it (copyrights, patents, etc) so that you can keep your business popular. The difference is that businesses make money, servers grow your e-peen.


You notice how when somebody makes a topic about 'What server should I host?' everyone says 'Do something new, original, and unique', and then when somebody (OP) makes a new, original, unique server, people bash it.
Gee I wonder why nobody is making any good servers anymore..

It can't be that it's unfinished to the point that it doesn't work, as if he's hosting it then it should be working fine

Edit: This is about servers in general, not just this particular server. Which is why I wont be replying here any more. My argument is still valid.

Do we even know what these "custom addons" are that we're whining about?

What if it's just some poorly modeled furniture or just some block fillers, who knows until we see it on the server.

...It's, like, 3 custom ModTer decals that took me five seconds to make. (Draw black around edges, add crystallize filter on Paint.NET, done. That sort of thing.)
Although as soon as someone answers my question of how to make custom bricks, I'll start making custom bricks.
So, yeah, it's not super custom, but it's just gonna be bricks and prints (I don't want to learn how to make script addons and don't know what they'd be anyways). I'll release stuff that's actually quality if I make anything like that, but it'll be used on the server for a while before that.
So, yeah, you're arguing over two outlines and a crystal pattern that looks horrible, at the moment. I tried to be sorta creative, but I originally made them because I saw a racetrack made with similar prints that I couldn't find.
