consoles are strictly made for playing games. lately they've been trying to broaden that aspect but all in all, still about games. its specs are specifically set and manufactured for mass use to play games. PCs are made for a wide range of possibilities that stretch to the entire opposite spectrum of games, with specs that can be customized to the users choice

and even then PCs can still do more with games than consoles ever could. forget, games and their consoles are designed on PCs. how is that even comparable?

They are both loving computers under the hood though, yeah they have been tailored to be specialized. But deep down in the hardware and software, they are all computers.

actually i have had some emulators forget stuff up for me, some areas in persona 4 were missing parts, therefore allowing me to see into the vast void of the world through a hole in the ground.

i don't think people get a lot of friends who emulate old games on a regular basis

but in terms of actually playing games on a console, an actual monitor-tower PC shouldn't even be debatable. to me, consoles are what you get when you want to play and enjoy a game with your friends. PCs are what you get when you want to maximize your playing experience to the fullest

but when people argue about which is better, they're almost always trying to see which one is prettiest or best looking, or which console maxes out the game the most. you cant seriously tell me a console is better at maxing a game than a PC. a PC is more versatile in every single possible way

they may both be computers but clearly PC-computers are better at maximizing games than console-computers and i still dont think there should be a debate between the two

This is the same thing as the pc megathread argument we had. Just because you've experienced something among your friends or whatever, doesn't mean its fact, and it doesn't mean you should spew bullstuff in public spaces just because you believe it to be true.

project 64? dolphin? nestopia? virtualboyadvance? any other big name emulator has never worked for you?

every single PS1 emulator i've tried never worked properly
i went through at least 5 of them
it could have just been the disc images but it was 4 - 5 games that had problems
also two of the PS2 emulators i tried i couldn't even get to start up not to mention attempt to run a game

i understand that older ones like project 64 or virtualboyadvace could work well but i'm trying to emulate newer games

maybe the playstation is just a deadzone in the emulator community
