The LinkWhat the forget is this? It seems like some kind of wiki on an alternate reality within a game, movie, book series, etc, but there's no evidence on the wiki of such a thing even existing. As far as I can tell, it's just a bunch of made up articles on a wiki. I did some searching, and I can find almost no other references to this. However,
XKCD 1242's title text refers to the
Helvetica Scenario, which has an Urban Dictionary entry but otherwise only exists on this wiki, which seems odd for Randall Munroe. The entire content of the article seems to be bullstuff: the paper referred to in the text is nonexistent, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the science behind it doesn't even remotely make sense. The only other reference to Engima University is as a text-based RPG on a
furry wiki, although there is a subtitle and it doesn't seem to have any other references on the internet. The link on the page to some kind of catalog doesn't have any results, and I find it a little unlikely that they refer to the same thing. There's also
this Facebook page which just seems to be some really cringy teenager loving around and also has no connection to the wiki.
So, yeah. That's weird I guess.
EDIT: The Helvetica Scenario seems to have originated from a BBC comedy show,
Look Around You. Doesn't really help much though.
