Author Topic: Your Blockland Story  (Read 5427 times)

one day in 2008-9 I was watching youtube videos about roblox.
I looked down and saw that the comments were filled with 'roblox vs blockland'
confused, I just ignored them.
but then, I kept seeing 'roblox vs blockland' in most roblox videos, and out of curiosity I searched blockland
I got the demo, I loved it and suddenly told my brother.
then, I bought the game, then my brother did slightly after.

I remember when I first bought the game I think I had to reinstall or something (for whatever reason)
on this new copy my controls were messed up so I joined a cityrpg out of excitement and when I spawned, I spawned outside the map and I couldn't move due to messed up controls.
Then, I went to the controls menu and manually binded each key all over again, only noticing the 'defaults' button right at the end.
The first friend I ever encounted is robot1, he used to host freebuild servers and we met on his server.
When v15(?) came out, UPnP was suddenly supported. That's when I figured out how to host servers.
Then it went from there, I hosted crappy servers, yet they seemed great at the time.

probably around 2010 or sometime i became friends with a dude who had been playing blockland for a while, and he told me to get it so i could play with him

been playing the game ever since, cycling through names until settling on element after playing on an infinite mining server, thinking getting a custom ore called Elementium would be cool

i played the demo for a year straight and then i descended into hell

i found it on an advetisement
i got the demo
like 2 days later i asked my dad for the full version, and i did
my first name was St0rm_Bringer because i had a friend on a minecraft server who apparently was someone from my friends list in LEGO universe that had that name
had some fun in the community made maps and dms
skip to when maps were removed
i had no idea what was happening, the synth was gone, i didn't see jorgar's server, or most of my favorite servers
i cried a little bit that maps were gone
richarding around, playing minecraft, etc, until the day after christmas, i got a new laptop that could support steam
i somewhat abandoned bl for a few monthes
nothing much going on still
now, whenever i see a map, i get supreme nostalgia

Found the game on some of those "Roblox vs Blockland """"""""""war""""""""""" videos, got the demo, then bought the game. Early 2014 I bought the steam version for ease of access and gave my old one to Bobbygordon4.

I played the demo like in 2009, then i tested the multiplayer in a friends computer and i liked it, sadly i never bought it because its too hard to pay online without steam if you are in Mexico. But i remeber a lot of cool stuff and servers.
In 2013 i finally decided to buy Blockland because it was on steam and i finally got money, but sadly i moved to another place and my friend left blockland so i cant play with him anymore.
Then i started making new friends, helping them with their projects and playing on servers.

i got the game in 2009 on an old account, played 700 hours with little to no break, until my computer melted down and i lost my saves, my addons and all my hard work, for me i was lucky as i had backed up my blockland to a usb drive to give him my addons and saves, so now i play again and i have no intent in stopping now

I started playing the demo sometime in late 2010 after the ad wouldn't go the forget away on YouTube. Looked it up, got the demo, and loved it. Though windows vista was a sack of stuff and started opening multiple windows of Firefox and my mom thought the game was doing it and said I couldn't get the game. Some time in 2011 she totally forgot and 4 weeks later after she said she would get it.

...and that is how I got myself into the equivalent of hell got to this point in time.

I was browsing around the interwebs looking for a cool game to play 4 years ago. I had a stuffty PC back so i was unable to play any high end games at the time. blockland gameplay videos pop up  within youtube and I thought it looked really fun. Download the demo and turns out its to look and run pretty great with my old PC.  Right when x-mas 2012 come around,  I was gifted with a gift card and when I saw the game on sale I bought it.  Been playing RP servers and acting like a complete  jackass for the past 3 years. :3

I started in 2008, and then somewhere in 2009 I got my first BLID (15144); The first server I joined was the first server I was banned from for having a high ID. I then went on a hiatus from 2009 to 2012, and then 2012 to 2015. And here I am. I believe my first name was johnny887, but in 2012 I changed it to Clay Hanson and started from there.

My Story
I was watching lego stop motions in 2008 and stumbled upon a "real" lego halo game. From their it led me to a really old version of block land and from their to a newer version and then to Sir Herg1. I downloaded the demo and soon after bought the full game at around version 15, maybe lower.

I was crazy addicted in 2009 and played the game so much. I remembered getting up at 5 o'clock in the morning to play Blockland before school.

I watched a ton of Sir Herg1 and his block land shows and eventually met some guy (no idea what his name was) We played for ages, this one time he made a zombie survival game and I was super excited because I was a Super Admin. I started a forums account in 2010.

My posts were pretty funny to look back on and really show the heavy level of maturity I had. Anyways, I played a crap ton of servers and thought I was a block land god. I changed my name from ODST Man 1227 to ODST guy 1227 to Awesomeclone to SGTKiller. I hosted a few servers including free builds and one crazy popular Class Based TDM in which a person I played with got very mad due to me using some of his stuff.

I loved the slope TDMs and the Halo Valhalla server.

The last thing I really remember about Blockland is when I was featured at the end of Sir Herg1's 20th episode (the one with boss battles and falling platforms and the QnA) I gave the world a beautiful Blockland spaz out as I was fangirling over being in Sir Hergs video.

Blockland led me to minecraft in around 2010 and I moved on for a bit, playing both equally.

That ends my story.

If anyone is up for some classic Blockland DM give me a yell!
